Apropos-of-Nothing Wednesday: #4
Two very good reasons to get rid of the perennially excruciating category of Best Original Song at the Oscars.
1) "Happy Working Song" (I wish Jon Stewart had sung it.)
2) "That's How You Know" (Wo-hork that dress, Ms. Chenoweth.)
Can we not leave this up to the Golden Globes and be done with it?

If there was no category for Best Song, though, we wouldn't have been treated to Glenn Hansard and Marketa Irglova singing "Falling Slowly", which is both a terrific song and a terrific song from an even better movie.
Yeah, it's whether you think "Falling Slowly" or something like the heartbreakingly great "Miss Misery" (God rest, Elliott Smith) are worth wading through the other pieces of crap.
P.S. Thanks for the comment.
