Wow: ACA Insurance Mandate Stood on Knife’s Edge of Reasoning

JRoberts.jpgAccording to the
majority ruling from Chief Justice Roberts (per the WSJ), Congress can’t require
individuals to purchase health insurance, but it can levy a tax on
individuals who lawfully choose not to. Roberts is quoted by the paper: “It is
well established that if a statute has two possible meanings, one of
which violates the Constitution, courts should adopt the meaning that
does not do so.”

ACA = Affordable Care Act.
